Why is it OK for Chad Johnson to draw attention to himself, but people crucify Terrell Owens for it?
Johnson can do any kind of celebration he wants, but Terrell Owens is drug through the mud by the media about everything he says or does. I think Parcells said it best when he called the weasels in the media, idiots. They don't like T.O. because he doesn't kiss their butts, and he doesn't make them feel more important than they are. They have a ventdeta against the guy simply because he isn't some butt kissing poster boy like Tom Brady or Carson Palmer. I also think the only reason why Chad Johnson gets a pass is because his QB is Carson Palmer, he's a USC alum, who all of the scumbags in the media JUST LOVE because of his prize winning smile and how he "says and does the right things." They care more about stirring up s.h.i.t than they do about actually reporting what happens on the field, and that's what's wrong with the media in general, including the news media. They always want to create a story or embellish a story instead of just reporting what happens, they're WORTHLESS PUNKS!
That's an other thing, what he does off the field isn't any of the media's business, or anyone elses; he's a football player. They should cover what he does on the field, and leave him alone in his personal life.
Crap, the guys in the 60's and 70's used to spit at each other and be "disrespectful" all of the time, but no one said a word. I think it's because back then they were mature MEN playing a game they loved, not BOYS with millions of dollars who are spoiled and over-sensitive. Back then if someone was spit on or cleated, they settled it on the field instead of whining, or some commissioner fining someone. I think today's players need to put their big boy britches on instead of acting like third graders everytime someone does something they feel is "disrespectful."
Also, T.O. isn't insecure, he's about as confident and secure of an athlete I've ever seen, it's just everything he says or does is blown out of proportion.
