Long crap...about posters.?
Ok boys and girls I have a question and it's rather long and complicated..but you get two points for answering it. Ok..I'm around 25 (just setting the stage) and I was walking around campus during my break from grad classes and saw there was a poster sale. (actually I was looking for some sorority that was supposed to be selling candy apples, but.....yeah.) Anyway..a lot of the posters were really sexual like one was "Girls guide to Orgams" and one was "What everyman wants" and had a girl in lingerie on it and lines like "Of course I can make out with my friend while you watch etc." So...I was thinking. (and I don't have a problem with free speech or any of that, if you want to put this up thats ok with me) that I didn't like it. Does this mean I'm too old to appreciate stuff like this, or does this mean I'm just a huge nerd. Also does this stuff send a negative mesage to people that is it ok to be a horny drunken loser, and do girls feel they have to pander to guys who act like this?
Also..I don't care if you buy it...or put it up. I'm just wonderinng if this sends a negative message to young adults and especaiily to women, or am I just too old. If Im too old I can just do a Danny Glover impression and forget it.

A story I read on a poster?
A man passes away, and finds himself standing in front of the pearly gates. Looking at his life, he finds a metaphor. He sees a sandy beach, and on the sand are footprints. There are two sets of prints. One are his, and the other are God's. As the footprints continue, he notices that one set of prints disappears. He thinks that that was the point in his life where God abandoned him, where he had to walk alone. A voice comes to him. It is God, he explains that he never abandoned him. The reason that there is only one set of prints is because that was when the man couldn't walk by himself, so God put him on his shoulders and carried him.
Best story I ever read in a poster. It was on sale at my university's poster sale.

I bought Klimt's The Kiss and put it up on my wall so that the couple is "laying down" is that wrong?
I bought Klimt's The Kiss at a poster sale. I saw it horizontally (so it looks as thought the couple is laying down) and thought it was such a beautiful painting because it looks like the man is so in love with the woman that he is pulling her towards him to kiss her and the woman is allowing him to do so because she loves him as well. I researched more paintings by Klimt and when I saw that The Kiss is actually supposed to be the couple standing up I was a little disappointed because some interpretations said that the man was deep into the kiss while the woman was aloof or that the woman is kneeling down to the man when I thought that her feet were up because she was experiencing such a passionate kiss. It's still on my wall as if the couple is laying down, does it matter? Art is subjective isn't it?
